The 32 Ports Analog VoIP Gateway SMG1000-D32S is designed for voicemail and unified messaging applications and includes a 10/100/1000M (optional) Base-T Ethernet connection for connecting legacy PBX to a LAN. The analog loop start functionality allows for integration via in-band signaling (DTMF or FSK), serial protocols, and T.38 for IP fax transmissions (FoIP).

SMG analog Gateways are designed for voicemail and unified messaging applications and include a 10/100 Base-T Ethernet connection for connecting legacy PBX to a WAN/LAN. Integration via in-band signaling (DTMF or FSK) or serial protocols is supported by the analog loop start functionality. For businesses with PBXs, the SMG1000 Gateways offer a simple and cost-effective path to voice and data convergence. When connected externally, they provide an IP solution that is compatible with existing legacy equipment. They support SIP-based applications as well as T.38 for IP-based fax transmissions (FoIP). - Modifications

The SMG1000 Gateways route calls from the switched network to an IP network VoIP destination.
In contrast, it routes calls from the IP network to a switched network destination telephone number via a switch port.
