Cloud telephony or hosted telephony, is a voice messaging service that substitutes the traditional business telephone equipment (for example, a PBX or Private branch exchange), with a third-party VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) service. This is the kind of technology that shifts your business phone system to the cloud.
With cloud telephony, enterprises can manage business calls without compromising on cost and quality.
ITES and BPO businesses boomed in India around the year 2000. Cloud Telephony had a huge part to play in the growth in this sector. This technology helps to speed up business and also impacts our personal lives in some ways.
Growing businesses can really flourish because of these telephone systems. It is the foundation for really important business activities such as in-house communication, customer outreach, and external reasoning.
Even though India is progressing ahead as a tech-driven economy, a large portion of businesses would rather communicate using voice instead of emails which are so impersonal. In the coming years, the scalability of the cloud will be much easier than it has been which will, in turn, get new start-ups and services to make good use of it, and not just as a supportive tool.
